Newest Allison Stokke pics - this never gets old

So there are some new pics of Allison Stoke that just hit the web. Unfortunately these are not the bikini pics that I requested, but they are enjoyable nonetheless.

March Madness - My Predictions Suck

A few weeks back I posted my thoughts on how to fill out a winning bracket. I’ll be honest, it was by far the most time I have ever spent on a post. I referenced several sites, pored over historical data, studied the bracket, reviewed rosters, listened to podcasts, read articles from every major sports writer on ESPN, Yahoo and SI and I was genuinely proud of what I wrote.

I filled out my bracket according to the rules I laid out and I thought I was going to be a big winner when all was said and done. When the tourney kicked off I was far away in Mexico, visiting family and as I snuck peeks at the USC-KState scores on my Blackberry, I realized that my post was going to come back to haunt me.

So let’s review the numerous way I managed to get this tournament all wrong:

March Madness - Hotel Sheraton “rivalry” ad

DISCLAIMER: I spent the last 2 weeks out of the country so unfortunately most of my NCAA action was restricted to reading box scores on ESPN and sneaking peeks at my Blackberry score updates during lunch and dinner. I arrived back home over the weekend and was excited that I would get to watch the Memphis-Texas game as well as the Davidson-Kansas game.

The reason I give that disclaimer is because up until yesterday I was completely unaware of the existence of this ad by the Sheraton Hotel:

Who the fuck was the marketing genius behind this? I’m guessing it’s someone who did not attend any of the schools shown in the video. As a USC guy, I can tell you that the dislike for UCLA come sporting time is genuine. During the year it’s not such a big deal, the schools are located pretty far apart from each other and when we ventured into Westwood we weren’t worried about UCLA students shooting us. But prior to a big football game or in recent years a competitive inter-conference basketball game, there was a whole different atmosphere. I can guarantee you that no real Trojans fan would hold open an elevator or go out of their way to do anything for a Bruin at one of these events. Same goes for the Bruins…and that’s the way it should be.

March Madness - Cinderella teams

I know that every other site on the web has made their NCAA bracket post, but I bucked the trend and waited until 10pm on Monday to write my first post.

Coppin State is not going to win the tourney
Coppin State is not going to win the tourney

I will make a few posts over the next few days in order to cover all my points.

  • Will I have new and interesting insight? Probably not.
  • Will there be a link to download a bracket? Most likely.
  • Will there be an official “Hey Brewer Tournament Challenge?” Not unless I can come up with a cool prize for the winner
  • Will I be ranting about USC drawing K-State in the opener? Most definitely
  • Are you gonna read what I wrote? You should…after the jump

I get the feeling this guy is not a Tennessee fan

Not really much to say, just watch the clip.

In under a minute and a half this guy gave us at least 10 sound bites. Cue every lame sports radio talk show dropping “They some snitches” every 5 minutes for the next month.

On that note, the best use of a sound bite is without a doubt Dave Dameshek’s use of the Torii Hunter “woo-wee.” A close second would be Jim Rome’s Ozzie Guillen “pssht please” sound bite. I will not argue this.

Allison Stokke official team head shot available online

Published by El Gigante under Cal, Random News

Fresh on the heels of the new Allison Stoke picture, we came across the “Golden Bear Sports” website. Apparently they handle all of the digital photography for UC Berkeley sports.

Who should we find on the 2nd page of the track & field section:

Not nearly as hot as some of her other pics, but what stalker collection is complete without a set of 2″X”3 wallet sized pics and an 8″ X 10″ suitable for framing.

Purchase them here: Golden Bear Sports

New Allison Stokke photo surfaces

Published by El Gigante under Cal, Random News

Most of you probably remember the internet seizing up a few years back when a photo of a gorgeous Orange County pole vaulter began surfacing across every message board you visited.

Does that sound vaguely familiar? Maybe this will refresh your memory:

The photo that stopped the web

This led to a huge uproar about privacy, her parents complaining about inappropriate attention she was getting, etc. Turns out she was not only hot but also talented, and ended up signing with Cal.

A Lesson in College Rivalries

Published by El Gigante under NCAA Football, Pac 10, USC

When I moved into my new place, my parking spot in the underground garage ended up being next to a non descript Nissan. During my 2nd week I happened to run into the guy who drove said Nissan. Imagine my excitement when I saw that he was wearing a USC Trojan hat.

2008 NFL Draft - Scouting Combine

Published by El Gigante under NCAA Football, NFL, NFL Draft

The NFL scouting combine kicks off tomorrow in Indianapolis. Since football season is over, and we’re months away from watching an organized game at any level, this is the only thing we have for the time being.

Todd McShay of ESPN.com wrote a great article about some of the kids to watch at the combine. Those who had the most to gain, those who had to succeed, etc. The most interesting part to me was the break down of what the players have to go throught during the 4 days they are present:
