- I grew up listening to my friend tell stories about all the time he, and only he, would and could spend playing catch with his next door neighbor, Steve Garvey. This bred a combination of joy, jealousy, contempt and sadness that has shadowed my relationship with the man and the Dodger organization, as a whole, to this very day.
