San Jose v Dallas…will it ever end?

Published by El Doctor at 10:08 pm under NHL

I don’t know why or how but I came across the San Jose v. Dallas Game 6 about mid way through the 3rd period tied at 1. As I type this it is intermission…after the 3rd OT. I can’t express how little I care about this game. Yet I’m committed and I can’t not watch this through to the end now. It’s like holding onto those top two pair when there is a flush on the board. You know you are beat but you hold on just because you are pot committed and can’t let it go.

The San Jose keeper, apparently named Evgeni Nabokov, made one of the best saves I’ve ever seen in OT 1. Or 2. I don’t fuckin know…2 hours ago. All I know is that the hated Rangers were eliminated from the playoffs and by the time this game ends they will be half way through their training camp of failure for next season.

Dallas won when some guy made a pass to Brendon Morrow open in front of the net on PP. The 8th longest game in Cup history and I find myself with an complete emptiness that its over. I didn’t care before and I don’t care now. 6.5 periods of hockey. Unreal.

This reminds me of Eddie Murphy describing the Packers v Giants game in ‘Coming to America’.
