The Good, The Bad, and the Peter Crouch

Published by Mutante under FC Barcelona

A couple videos since I can’t sleep. Less than 12 hours before the 2nd leg of Manchester United vs FC Barçelona in Old Trafford.

What a goof.

Brilliant. Guess who directed this (hint: not Peter Crouch. Not even Ini Kamoze.)

McCarver baffles all of America

Published by El Doctor under MLB, Mets, Random News

Among baseball fans Tim McCarver is a known idiot. Thankfully he is doing his part to spread his message of idiocy and confusion to the masses by continuing to speak during Fox’s nationally televised games.

Just to make sure I understand:

Stonewall Jackson = Robert E. Lee = J. E. B. Stuart = Charlie Manuel.

O…..k.

Newcastle United win Tyne-Wear Derby

Published by El Doctor under Newcastle, Premiership, Soccer

The Geordies beat the unclean mackems by a score of 2-0 in Northeast England’s biggest (and only) derby.

Sad mackem Bastards AKA 2007-8 SAFC team

Michael Owen scored both goals to continue his run of top flight play and further stake claim to his return to England’ national team. The lowly mackems have not defeated Newcastle since 2000 and today’s outcome secures their place as the 2nd (or 3rd if you count Boro) class team in the NE.

More importantly Newcastle were officially removed from the relegation battle and can now focus on building their team for next year in the top flight. Their performance over the past 6 matches and revitalization under Kevin Keegan has also shown that some interweb’s bloggers, who shall remain nameless, don’t know shit.

Working Blue & the Spiritual Life. Tommy Lasorda Meets the Pope

Published by godoyers under Dodgers, MLB

Tommy Lasagna wasn’t always the jovial and easy going grandpappy that he portrays today but that didn’t stop President Bush and the Mrs. from extending an invitation to today’s Papal meet and greet at the White House. Follow this NSFW old school link to find out how Mr. Dodger feels about being the “luckiest son of a bitch in the world”.

Kobe Bryant returns to the scene of his alleged rape crime

Published by Mutante under Lakers, NBA

So once again I won my fantasy basketball league, and once again it came down to getting lucky with my draft picks. The last two nights of championship week were close, just like the last two minutes of a close basketball game the lead changed back and forth constantly, and I won by three assists.

I figure this makes me as qualified as the next guy to give my 1st round playoff predictions, so here they come after the jump. Let me put this out there first though: Kobe Bryant is about to play a playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, and there isn’t a single story in cyberspace bringing up a very OBVIOUS subplot: namely, the rapist is returning to the scene of the rape. Don’t believe me? Go ahead, google the news for anything about it. I’ll be here after the jump.

Bring up the name of this ex-NFL player, and you’re a lying shitbag if the first thing you think isn’t, “Hey, isn’t that the putoface who slapped Stephen Davis around on the Skins cause Davis called him a fag??”

Anna Kournikova visits Tijuana

Published by El Gigante under Random News

Anna Kournikova is not only gorgeous but also happens to be the ambassador of the Boys & Girls Club of America. As a result, she came down to Tijuana today for the grand opening of the very first BGCA in all of Mexico.

I was able to make a trek down to TJ and get in to the event. More than anything I really just wanted to be up close with Ms. K, but it turns out that the Mexican paparazzi had the same idea. There will be hundreds of pics and vids all over the press first thing tomorrow, but you can get a sneak peek at them now.

Keep in mind I am by no means a pro photographer nor do I possess professional camera equipment. I am also not a member of the press. Fortunately I was about a foot taller than everyone else at the event. So enjoy these shots until something better comes along.

USC Song Girls raise $1MM for charity - strip down to their bikinis

Published by El Gigante under Pac 10, Random News

USC continued its tradition of being the most awesome school in the world. At their Swim with Mike event, the USC Song Girls hung out by the pool and raised over $1,000,000 for charity. This was the 2nd straight year that they set a new fundraising record. You can read the article from LA Times with all the details.

The best part of the event though is the numerous pictures of the gorgeous Song Girls in bikinis that made their way to the web. Don’t get me wrong, charity is important and I’m very proud of USC for doing this, but pics of USC girls in bikinis are also very important.
