The USA is not serious enough about their soccer - Colombia shows us how it’s done
America de Cali and Deportivo Cali, 2 Colombian soccer teams, had a match over the weekend. Near the end of the game, there was some debate towards the end of the game about a no call on a penalty. The coach got really mad and yelled at the ref and the fans shouted “Bullshit, bullshit!”
Oh no wait, this is Colombia, the coach apparently got punched which then erupted into a brawl in the stand which then led to injuries including 18 stabbings! Here is the video:
This makes the participants of the “brawl” at the Palace look like a bunch of pussies. The part that really stands out to me is the 18 stabbings. Does this mean that numerous fans were carrying shanks just in case a fight broke out? Or was there just one crazy fan running around looking to stab people? Either way, I’m definitely avoiding any trips to Colombian soccer games and instead stick with the hooligans at Galaxy games.

This is the reason you aren’t going to Columbia? This probably falls around 22nd or 23rd on the list of reasons my passport won’t have a Bogatá stamp anytime soon.
I love that there were riot police and gear already at the stadium. Does this happen elsewhere? Outside of Pacers games does the NBA have SWAT teams on standby in the area? NFL? NHL? Besides Italy (of course) I wonder if the soccer leagues in Europe are read throw down the shit like the Colombians are.
