The Fallout Begins
The illustrious, time-honored (since 1998) pantheon known as the The Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center is removing Roger Clemens’ jersey from its display honoring the 1996-2000 Yankees championship teams. According to David Kaplan, the director of the museum, “It was the fact that there are a lot of unresolved issues involving Roger and it was difficult for us to give answers to the kids coming through the museum.” Oh sure, David. You did it for the kids. Does anyone else find it funny that Yogi berra has a learning center?
Truth be told, this should be the least of Rocket’s concerns, but I’m sure he’s pretty riled about it. Apparently, he’d played in fundraising golf tournaments for the museum and is a friend of Berra’s. Personally, I don’t mind not having to remember Roger Clemens as a Yankee, but this type of please-the-mob reaction — Clemens has not been formally convicted of anything… yet — is kinda scary. Lest we forget history, this is the kind of thing that kept Shoeless Joe out of Cooperstown.

Love the Shoeless Joe reference but I’m not sure this is the same thing. They never should have kept Joe out of The Hall…
Lifetime .356 hitter
Lifetime WS avg. .345
He batted .351 in 1919 the year of the scandal and .375 in the 1919 series…without “the clear”.
Joe should be in The Hall and so should The Rocket, but with asterisks for very different reasons.
